LA MARIPOSAS CON ROLOS
Since March is Women History Month, the Peralta Project is paying tribute to Las Hermanas Mirabal. Las Hermanas Mirabal also known as Las Mariposas (Minerva, Patria, Maria Teresa and Dede) where involved in clandestine activities against the Trujillo regime in the Dominican Republic. Three of the four sisters (Patria, Minerva, Maria Teresa) were assassinated on 25 November 1960.
The Artwork is created by Artist M.Tony Peralta and is part of his Rolos & Icons series.
